How we operate

Who buys the gift

When you pay on Appreci, you are paying us. We then buy the gift from the store on your behalf, as your agent, or issue the gift card. The store sells and supplies the goods under its own licences, as it would for any other customer. For Assistant sends the store never sees your card or your login: we check out for you.

What you pay

• The gift itself, at the price the store charges for it, at or under your budget.
• A service fee, shown before you pay: currently 50 cents plus 5% of the gift value, unless a screen says otherwise. This is how Appreci makes money.
• Postage when the gift has to travel, quoted to the address you gave us.
• Optional extras you choose, such as a video message.

Assistant pricing

When the Assistant finds a gift for you, you pay what the store charges for it. We do not add a margin to the price of the gift: our income is the service fee shown before you pay. We do not charge your search budget as the price of the gift, and shipping is real shipping, not a padded line.

Alcohol

Appreci does not sell, supply or store alcohol, and never holds or handles it. An alcohol gift is bought on your behalf from a licensed store, which sells it and supplies or delivers it to the recipient directly, under its own liquor licence. Both the sender and the recipient must be 18 or over.

Gift cards

Digital gift-card codes work like cash, which makes them a target for stolen cards. Every gift-card payment must pass 3D Secure with the cardholder’s bank, and we do not issue the code until that succeeds.

Budgets and admin

Company credit and platform administration move real money, so they are protected. Platform administrators must enter a one-time code sent by email every time they sign in, on the web and in the app; no administrator session exists until the code is entered. Credit grants are written to an audit log that records a hashed identity, not an email address.

What we will not do

• Sell your contact list, or the recipient’s details.
• Show the store which person on Appreci paid.
• Keep a previous recipient on the next send form after the transaction completes.
• Put street addresses, mobile numbers or card details into search or the Assistant’s AI models.
