Delete your account
Last updated 4 October 2026. How to delete your Appreci account, what is removed, and what we have to keep.
In the app
- Open Appreci and tap your avatar.
- Tap Settings, then Delete my account.
- Confirm. Your account is closed on our servers straight away and you are signed out of every device.
By email
If you do not have the app, or cannot sign in, write to hello@appreci.io with the subject “Delete my account” from the email address on the account. We will confirm it is you, then close the account within 7 days and reply when it is done.
Before you delete
- Gifts you have received but not yet redeemed, and any credit in your wallet, can no longer be used. Redeem them first, or pay them forward.
- Gifts you have sent are not affected: the people you sent them to keep them.
- If your access came through an organisation's account, deleting your account removes you from that organisation on Appreci.
- Deletion cannot be undone. To use Appreci again you would create a new account.
What is removed
- Your name, email addresses, phone number, delivery address, profile photo and sign-in links to Google, Microsoft or Apple.
- Replies you wrote to other people (the other person sees “message deleted” in their thread).
- Saved cards (removed from Stripe), sign-in codes, and your push-notification registrations.
Personal details are removed from our live systems immediately. Our database backups expire on a rolling basis, so the details are gone from those within 14 days.
What we have to keep
- Records of purchases and payments for seven years from the transaction, as Australian tax and consumer law require. They are kept with your name replaced by a reference number and are not used for anything else.
- The message that travelled with a gift you sent. It is part of the gift the other person received, and stays with their gift under the name you sent it with.
- A record that the account was deleted, so we do not send you anything by mistake.
- Anything we are required to keep by law, for example in response to a legal process.
Our Privacy Policy has more on how we handle personal information.
